ICE ICE< AVOCADO
I am not going to get into the numbers of how many because it's hard to say exactly how many. For people are daily and hourly put into solitary for punishment for their crimes while in jail or prison while some are in solitary for the whole duration of their sentence. A lot of persons with disabilities are left with no medical assistance in the population and it gets worst when they are in solitary which a lot of them are from the start. The number of persons under eighteen in solitary should be considered but rather it is deemed better than it is overlooked. The point is solitary is inhumane, and reckless to humanity.
A recent notable defendant who deserves an appeal no different than the current president which is one that suggested being without witnesses has directed his funds go to the indigenous people of his country in Mexico. This makes me think it was once wanted for his funds to be used for a wall. He is in solitary. Why can’t it go to help persons with disabilities in prisons get health care, why can’t it be used for those innocent in jail for lawyer fees? Why can’t it be used to help those affected by the virus in prisons and jails and especially those who are largely Latino in ICE? ICE was formed to harass and target a group of people and it is not different in how it is targeting a certain group of people.
I want to start a ban on produce some days, to make those who eat a certain veggie use their networks and friends they brag about on social media and those who briefly cried to free the kids of ICE to parents that are not able to be found. It is kind of like taking the baby from the slave as soon as she had it. I wonder if a network could be started with the parents who were deported in Mexico and other Latin countries to locate their children at least on behalf of the united states for roughly separating them. Then I think why doesn’t Mexico stop sending this veggie until laws change. I mean I almost got into a fight with someone over a rip one. I saw it in her eyes Karen was not having Latino kids in her country or was this ghetto buffy daughter of an immigrant getting this avocado either. I gave up, in the end, it wasn’t worth it. I thought how much Americans love Mexican and Latino foods but do not know any Spanish. I thought of this big boom of Spanish-speaking music and no one understanding a word though the majority of this country is Spanish-speaking people. But then I go to how the farmers depend on those veggies, and how those veggies get more respect than their people in the country it is being sent to. I think of the farmers in the US undocumented and putting their life at risk for others and pay taxes on their wages. I think of my godfathers and uncle ( not blood related) who are Latino.
Then I go back to jail and prison and I wonder where inmates' goods go to, who capitalizes on them or whoever cashes in on them. I am with the one who wants to give his billions back to his people. Who knows how many people like him of any and every crime that lands in the USA government system and have their assets seized, where do they go, not back into the community. Or to rebuilding the community, does the assets go back to programs to rehabilitate prisons and jails inmates. I wonder does anyone care about the medical effects of being in solitary mentally and physically.
I just know if Karen and Brad did not have their avocado toast they would get to the bottom of it. Even make a comprise or a call for just one half on behalf of the children in ICE or that black man arrested due to the Clinton crime bill of 94 who wants to go college if he can not leave. I just know if all the assets that the USA government seized went to helping the families of the accused and convicted lawyer fees and to the community, it just might…. I do not know why I live in a world that wants to control my body, regulate to their benefit what someone made with their wrongs, and then sentence someone. I do know what I am doing in a world that does not care about those who are disabled in the prison system. A world that separates families when their laws were built on promising everyone and that everyone is entitled to a right and just freedom. I am not complaining I am just stating my grievances they have those in prison and jails. It does not mean I will be heard loud enough where any action will be taken that leads to lasting and long-term change. I am not looking for a quick fix in writing this. Nor has any light dimmed that would change me from having hope things will change, something hope and hustle is all you need.
I think of how one of my neighbors was called a wetback and I just knew it was bad then but not why he was called that. I handled it in a way that was not favorable like when people called my dad a drug dealer for no reason. I just think about how many people think Latinos are only good for one thing or one stereotype. My neighbor and friend did not ask me to defend him or like my dad never asked. However, we had a common bond our parents were stereotyped and hated for their origins rather than celebrated for what they overcame to get where they were and were able to provide for their children using the same principles of this dream that seems only American for some. We lived awake in our dreams knowing that a lot of people did not want them to become true. I still have hope.
But maybe I dream in reality because there are stories like Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa who was once a farmworker and is now one of America’s most respected neurosurgeons.
